Mutiny Mist Cavaliers is the home of Dr. William and Patricia Church. We are located in Everett, Washington, and Whidbey Island, Washington. Mutiny Mist is a serious, committed hobby breeder; we breed for health, conformation, and temperament. Our puppies are family raised, socialized, and temperament tested before placement in carefully selected, screened families. Veterinary care includes: worming, vaccinations, eye exams, micro-chipping, and a well-puppy check. We follow mitral valve disease (MVD) and syringomyelia (SM) protocols. All breeding stock is health tested by specialists: we check eyes, hearts, hips, patellas/knees, and screen for SM by MRI. All breeding Cavaliers are CHIC listed and MRI listed.

Note that long-lived Cavaliers come from breeders who consistently test for known genetic diseases. You will find these breeders on the OFA, CHIC, CKCSC, and UK Cavalier Club websites (see Resources). Routine testing and selective breeding for hearts, eyes, hips, knees/patellas, and SM produce long-lived Cavaliers; loving, family-oriented, holistic care preserves their remarkable temperaments. For SM an MRI is the only test presently available to confirm clear status. We also do blood screens to rule out thyroid and platelet issues.

As much as we strive for healthy breeding, conformation is also important. Our breeding Cavaliers are all AKC champions. A championship confirms that at least three judges think that the Cavalier conforms to the breed standard. In other words, you don't have to take our opinion only.
